The data shows the percentage of 5 to 14 year olds and the procentage of those over 60 from 1985 to 2000 in a selection of countries.

Australia had the lowest percentage of over 60s yet the highest of children between 5 and 14 from 1995 to 2000. Earlier, both Ireland and Turkey had higher percentages of 5 to 14 year olds. Although higher by 1 or 2%, Australia had a similar trend to Denmark.

In 1985, Germany has the highest percentage of over 60s while at the same time they also had the lowest percentage of minors, In 1995 and 2000, Germany remained the lowest with the exception of Italy at 9 and 10%.

From 1990 to 1995, there was an inverse correlation between the percentage of children and people over 60 in the UK. At 13%, it had the second lowest percentage of kids in 1985 but the second highest at 13% in 2000; no data was given for Turkey.

Overall, Germany had similar trends to Australia for over 60s and the UK for children.
