For this free PTE reading practice exercise, we will look at multiple questions which have choice multiple answers. For this question type, you are given a text up to 300 words long, and will need to select which of the statements are true based on what you have read. There are always at least 2 correct answers from 5 possible options. You need to select all the answers that are correct.

Pollution, in its various forms, is becoming more widely studied and thus more understood, and in particular the serious effects of air pollution and its often chronically debilitating and even fatal outcomes. In 2015, it was calculated that more than 4 million people globally died as a result of ambient air pollution, known as PM2.5, or Particulate Matter 2.5, which made it the most serious worldwide environmental health problem and the fifth-leading cause of death. The World Health Organisation estimates that more than 90 per cent of children around the world are breathing contaminated air such as to cause health problems and impede both physical and cognitive development. The issue of PM2.5, however, also draws conflicting viewpoints, with many governments, both in the developing and industrial spheres alike often choosing to either ignore the problem or to delay required action to mitigate the long-term effects.
