For free PTE reading practice 7, we will look at multiple questions which have choice multiple answers. For this question type, you are given a text up to 300 words long, and will need to select which of the statements are true based on what you have read. There are always at least 2 correct answers from 5 possible options. You need to select all the answers that are correct.
Here’s a practice exercise to test your skills this with PTE question type.
The long-distance transportation of pollutants in the atmosphere is an important area of research for environmental scientists. The Department of the Environment in the United Kingdom regularly reports on upper-end and lower-level pollution originating in continental Europe which circulates over the British Isles, while recent reports from the United States indicate that eastern states such as Michigan were impacted by ash from forest fires far away in California. The fall-out from Australian bush fires has been recorded as crossing the Tasman Sea eastward to New Zealand and China’s infamous ‘yellow dust’ from sandstorms across its northern stretches regularly impacts the Korean peninsula and Japan. Overall, studies and government action continue, and international policies to lower thresholds of pollution levels in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres endure. Much work is needed to coordinate the actions of the most serious polluting countries and for them to acknowledge the impacts of all levels of pollution generation, and for shared understanding of these impacts to be taken into consideration to achieve agreed standards.
