The instructions for Task 2

Regardless of how good your English is and how good your points are, you won’t get a good result in the writing test if you have not followed the instructions you are given. The length of your response, whether you have used relevant examples, the structure you have used dependent on the question – all of these points need to be considered.

For example, did you know that there are 4 different structures you can use when writing a Task 2 response. Depending on the task title, you may be asked to compare, present advantages and disadvantages, challenge a point of view, or present an opinion on a given situation. Each of these structures are presented with examples and the steps needed in later units.
