The correct use of articles is a difficult skill to master, but if you are looking for a high level result in your test you will need to use them accurately. There are three different articles: a/an, the or no article, which we will identify in this lesson by using this symbol [see the video].
Here is an example of each type:
Laws should be respected in a civilised society.
The Queen of England was born in 1926.
Dogs are very loyal pets.
Remember that when the word that follows begins with a consonant sound, we use ‘a’. When it follows with a vowel sound, we use ‘an’. For example an educated person / an hour / a university.
