Question types. In Part Three of the IELTS test, your language ability will be tested in a number of different areas. You may have to express opinions and justify them. You may have to make comparisons. Analyse issues. Describe changes or trends. Talk about advantages and disadvantages. Speculate about the future. Here are some example questions. To answer a question well, you may need to use a combination of the abilities you see here. For example, in this question, a candidate might choose to make comparisons between men and women, then move on to talk about trends of parenthood in the past and how roles in the home might change in the future. As you should know, the questions you are given in Part Three are related to the topic card you spoke about in Part Two. Here are some possible topic cards that the Part Three questions could have been related to.
